Dental Implants Price Comparison Guide

Understanding The Cost Of Dental Implants

Dental implants Perth are increasingly becoming a popular solution for replacing missing teeth. They offer long-term benefits and a natural-looking appearance, making them a worthwhile investment for many. However, the cost of dental implants can be quite overwhelming for some.

Factors That Affect The Cost Of Dental Implants

  • Geographical location: The cost of dental implant treatment varies depending on the city or region in which you live. Urban areas such as Sydney and Melbourne, with a higher cost of living, typically have higher dental implant costs.
  • Material: Dental implants are usually made of either titanium or zirconia. Titanium is the more common dental implant material and is generally affordable than zirconia.
  • Number of implants: The more implants you need, the higher the overall cost will be. This includes both the implant posts and the dental crowns or bridges attached to them.
  • Dentist’s expertise: Dental implants require recognized knowledge and skill. More experienced dentists who are experts in implant dentistry may charge higher fees.
  • Additional procedures: Some patients may require additional procedures like bone grafting, tooth extractions, or gum disease treatment before they can have dental implants placed. These extra treatments add to the overall cost of the procedure.

It is essential to consider all these factors when determining the cost of dental implants, as they can significantly impact the final price.

Average Cost Of Dental Implants In Australia

In Australia, dental implants can range from $5,000-$7,500 per implant. This includes the cost of the implant post, an abutment (connector), and a crown (tooth replacement).

This price can be even higher if additional procedures are needed, such as bone grafting procedure or tooth extraction.

Keep in mind that these average costs can vary depending on several factors, including geographical location, dentist’s expertise, and materials used. To get an accurate quote for your specific situation, it is best to consult with a dental professional in your area.

Are Dental Implants Worth The Cost?

Though the price of dental implants might seem steep at first glance, many people find the long-term benefits to be worth the investment. The advantages of dental implants include:

  • Improved appearance: Dental implants closely resemble natural teeth and can significantly improve the appearance of your smile.
  • Enhanced function: Unlike removable dentures, dental implants are securely anchored in the jawbone, allowing you to eat, speak, and laugh with confidence.
  • Durability: When properly maintained, dental implants can last for decades. This makes them a cost-effective and long-term solution for tooth replacement.
  • Promoting oral health: Dental implants support jawbone health by stimulating the bone thereby preventing bone loss that can occur when teeth are missing.

Given these benefits, dental implants may be worth the cost for many people, particularly for those looking for a long-lasting and natural-looking solution to replace missing teeth.

Comparing Dental Implant Prices

Price Comparison Of Different Types Of Dental Implants

  1. Single dental implant: This type of implant replaces a single missing tooth and costs between $5,000 and $7,500 per tooth.
  1. Implant-supported bridge: In Australia, the cost of an implant-supported bridge from $13,000, depending on the number of teeth that need replacement. Dental implants are capable of providing support for a bridge, allowing for the replacement of multiple teeth.
  1. All-On-4 dental implants: This procedure replaces a full arch of teeth with just four implants, providing a more cost-effective solution for patients who need extensive tooth replacement. The average cost of All-On-4 dental implants starts from $19,000 per jaw.

These price comparisons can help you understand the different options available and guide your decision-making process.

Hidden Costs Of Dental Implants

Dental implants are a great solution for replacing missing teeth and restoring your smile. However, it is important to consider the additional costs involved. Besides the implant itself, treatments like bone grafting and tooth extractions may be needed.

Costs can vary based on implant type, number of implants needed, and location of the dental clinic. In the next section, we will discuss these hidden costs, along with financing options and insurance coverage available, to help you plan your implant journey effectively.

Additional Costs Of Dental Implants You Should Consider

When calculating the overall cost of dental implants, most patients tend to focus on the implant itself, which typically ranges From $5,000-$7,500. But there are several additional costs one should consider before moving forward with the procedure. These may include:

  1. Preoperative consultations and evaluations: The implant process involves several appointments with your dentist, including consultations, X-rays, and a comprehensive dental evaluation. These pre-operative expenses can sometimes cost starts from $199 and $300.
  2. Bone grafting: If you have insufficient bone mass in your jaw to support the implant, a bone graft may be necessary. This procedure can cost from $3,000 to $8,000 per graft depending on the graft’s complexity and the bone material used.
  3. Soft tissue grafting: In some cases, you may require soft tissue grafting to improve the gum’s thickness and appearance around the implant. The cost for soft tissue grafting can range between $600 to $1,200.
  4. Tooth extractions: If the tooth requiring replacement is still in your mouth, it will need to be extracted before the implant is placed. Depending on the tooth’s complexity, extractions can cost roughly between $200 and $700 per tooth.
  5. Abutment and crown: Completing the dental implant process involves the placement of the abutment and dental crown, which are the final components. It is important to note that these components can contribute an additional cost ranging from $2,500 to $3,999 to the overall total cost of the procedure.

Insurance Coverage For Dental Implants

One of the significant concerns for patients is whether insurance will cover the dental implant procedure. Unfortunately, many dental insurance plans do not cover dental implants, as they are considered a “cosmetic” treatment rather than a “medically necessary” procedure.

However, some insurance companies are beginning to offer partial coverage for dental implant procedures, including related treatments such as extractions and bone grafting.

It is essential to review your dental insurance policy carefully and speak with your insurance plan’s customer service to determine whether any aspect of dental implants is covered. Additionally, check for any annual or lifetime maximums for dental expenses, as these can limit the assistance you receive for costly treatments like implants.

Financing Options For Dental Implants

Dental implants can be costly in Australia, but there are financing options available, including payment plans, personal loans, credit cards, government schemes, and private health insurance. It is strongly recommended to contact and discuss the options available to you with a reliable dental practice that is recognizable for its expertise in dental implants., like My Dental Implant Perth Dentist. Their expertise will assist you to choose the best option that suits your budget and needs.

I was at a really low point in my life, had an accident 2 years ago which broke 3 of my teeth and a bridge in between my 2 front top teeth. From that moment I became extremely conscious of going out, socialising and found my self withdrawn and depressed as I didn't know what to do.Then a friend told me about My Implant Dentist. I plucked up the courage and went for my first consultation at Mindarie Quinns dental practice with Dr Zaheer who explained all my options and advised all on 4 top and bottom. Not only Dr Zaheer but all the staff and doctors at both Mindarie and South Perth were amazing and extremely professional and made the whole process seemless.Having the treatment has given me back confidence and enabled me to socalise and do things with my family and friends that I couldn't do before.I would like to thank Dr Zaheer and all the team at My Implant Dentist for everything they have done for me and recommended them to everyone I speak to.I just can't stop smiling!!!

I picked up”Moorooka Dental Care” contact details from the web. I rang for a few questions and the happy voice of Frances had calmed my anxiety down quickly!Dr Kadwa greeted me from the front bench, took me in for the X-ray, dental assessment, carefully explaining the procedure, answered my questions and quoted for the works. He offered to breakdown work items to suit with my needs. The quote was surprisingly very compatible with my previous quote from overseas. (I know I am going to have my dental treatment in the safe zone, most medical advances in Australia). The implant work went smoothly, so smooth that the team had to remind me “Done!”, well beyond my imagination. When he saw me off with the aftercare instructions, I could feel his professional manners with caring characters. I know he has done a few thousand implants but I still received the care of his first. Thanks Zaheer!I requested X-ray images, Fatimatu responded promptly with friendly chatting.I also would like to thank Dr Linh Trần who was in the operation team at the treatment and follow up cares.
