AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM MY IMPLANT DENTIST REGARDING COVID-19 AND THE CORONAVIRUS
As the health and safety of our adult and child patients, families and our staff remain our primary focus, we would like to update you on the precautions we’re taking to address the current COVID-19 situation at our clinic.
By monitoring and using available information provided by the Australian Department of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO) in relation to the current pandemic, we are developing management strategies to prioritise the safety of our patients, their families and our team.
Our dedicated healthy team need your help to make responsible choices to ensure our clinic is able to remain open and that we continue to provide exceptional treatments to our patients in times of need – after all, we know that dental emergencies don’t take vacations.
What we need from you?
If you or any of your family are
· experiencing flu-like symptoms (for example fever, dry cough, sore throat, fatigue),
· have recently returned from a high-risk country,
·or have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19,
we ask that you contact us by phone 9361 5544 to re-schedule your appointment to a period at least 14 days later.
What is My Implant Dentist doing?
Our team has been instructed not to come to work if they, or anyone in their household, are experiencing flu-like symptoms, have recently returned from a high risk country, have returned from overseas travel on or after 16 March 2020, or have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
At My Implant Dentist we will continue to observe our usual strict infection control protocols and whilst face masks and hand sanitiser supplies are restricted, we are still managing to obtain our weekly quota.
We have increased the frequency of cleaning during the day for both our clinic and reception areas. High touchpoints include bathrooms, doors, reception chairs, countertops, pens, keyboards and buttons on equipment/machines will be cleaned with surface disinfectant every two hours or after each use.
We would encourage the use of card payments wherever possible to limit the handling of cash for both our customers and front desk team.
As well as the above-mentioned disinfection protocols, our reception room will no longer have the following items available during your visit to My Implant Dentist:

·newspaper & magazines,
Limit non-patient numbers in the practice
During this time of heightened caution, we ask that wherever possible only the patient attend the appointment. If you can avoid it, please do not bring family or friends to appointments. Please do not arrive too early for your appointment.
Teenage and adult patients
We would encourage parents of teenage patients to wait in your vehicle on cooler days or outside our practice under the trees during the appointment. As you know, your children are in safe hands with our caring and experienced team.
Please ask your child to check-in with our front desk team upon arrival. We will update your child on their treatment progress to relay to you and if necessary, our team will come outside to discuss their progress with you. Our front desk team will call you by phone immediately at check out time to organise the next appointment with you.
We understand that parents of younger children may still need to enter the practice and check in at front desk. Whilst there will be exceptions to this, we would prefer parents and siblings not to enter the clinic area.
1st Consultation Appointments for school aged children
We ask that parents attend with the patient only and do not bring siblings to this appointment if possible.
As this is an evolving situation, and as we anticipate changes every few days, we will continue to update everyone over the coming period.
