Dr Marvin Yau grew up in Sydney before completing his dental studies at Griffith University in sunny Queensland under the sponsorship of the Australian Defence Force.
During his service with the Royal Australian Army Dental Corps, he gained extensive experience under the mentorship of specialist prosthodontists and periodontists.
Now settled in Melbourne with his wife Reina and daughter children Isla and Luca, Marvin has embraced the Surrey Hills community and serves as a trusted family and implant dentist. His clinical focus includes comprehensive treatment planning, surgical procedures, and dental implant dentistry—particularly helping patients who feel self-conscious about their smile or have difficulty chewing regain both function and confidence.
Marvin is passionate about ethical, high-quality care and takes a whole-mouth approach to every case. He enjoys getting to know his patients, understanding their goals for comfort, function, and aesthetics, and working collaboratively to achieve them.
With a special interest in advanced surgical techniques particularly in dental implants and wisdom teeth, Marvin continues to refine his skills through ongoing education to learn the latest developments in implant and aesthetic dentistry, and regularly attends seminars and conferences to stay at the forefront of the field.
Outside the clinic, Marvin loves exploring Melbourne’s vibrant food and culture scene, keeping fit through cycling, CrossFit, and boxing, and spending time at home cooking for Reina, Isla and Luca.
